FTP Explorer's Features
Believe it or not, creating a profile may be the most difficult
task you'll face when using FTP Explorer. Having said that, let's
take a look at some of the things this neat client can do.
Connect
You can connect to your FTP account by either clicking on the connect
button on the toolbar or by going to Tools and selecting
Connect (see it here).
Once you connect to your account, FTP Explorer will display all
the folders and files that are in your directory. The window at
the bottom shows you the FTP session log.
Open files
To open a file (view file contents) go to File and select
Open (see it here).
Uploading
Uploading files to your ftp account with FTP explorer is a breeze.
All you have to do is click on the upload arrow on the toolbar or
go to File and select Upload (see it here).
Once the Upload window appears, select the file you wish to upload
and click on Open. Note that before you upload any file(s),
make sure the folder to which you want to upload the files is open.
Download
To download any file simply select the file you wish to download
and click on the download arrow on the toolbar or go to File
and select Download (see it here).
Once you make your selection, FTP will automatically download the
selected file(s) to the download folder (path) you specified in
your profile. FTP Explorer also has the ability to resume interrupted
file transfers.
Transfer Manager
Transfer Manager maintains a record of all your transfer requests
and displays a summary of both downloads and uploads (in a session)
in a window. You can also determine the status of a record by the
color with which it is represented. For instance, a red
Icon indicates that there was an error during the file transfer.
A yellow Icon indicates that the transfer
is active, a gray Icon indicates that
a transfer is pending, a blue Icon
indicates that the transfer is complete, and a black Icon indicates
that the transfer was canceled by the user. Transfer manager also
allows you to either cancel or resubmit a request to the server
(see it here).
To access Transfer Manager go to Window and select Transfer
Manager (see it here).
Let's now take a look at a few more important features that FTP
Explorer has to offer.
