Dynamic Web Sites Part I
Revamp Your Site

If your web site has remained the same since it went live, then something's terribly wrong.

As a rule of thumb, a web site's look or design, should be revamped at least a couple of times a year. You should know better about human nature. We, humans, tend to become bored when we look at the same thing over and over, that's why we try to do things differently all the time.

Giving your web site a lift, can derive in many benefits. For instance, your site's visitors will not become bored. Also, if you come up with a neat new design for your site, you may attract new visitors, or even visitors that disliked your site's old design and therefore never visited it back.

-- "Ok then, I'll change my site's design every six months only" -- If you are thinking this way then stop!

Revamping your site also involves making improvements to it every single day! We are not talking about making big changes in the way your site looks. We are talking about the little things. For example:

  • Check for dead links

  • Add some graphics that will make your site look better

  • Provide links to other resources

  • Provide a search feature

Remember, your site's success depends on keeping its visitors happy. Don't be the kind of person that builds a web site to never work on it once it goes live. Make your site a Dynamic Web Site not a static one.

In part two of this article, we'll look at another way to make a web site more dynamic.
