Image loading....Image still loading....Image still loading (10
seconds later)....Done (15 seconds later).
How many times have you wished your browser could load those web
pages faster than it does? How many times have you pushed the stop
button and moved on because it seemed that it was taking your browser
forever to load that site that has lots of graphics?
I don't know about you but I've done and wished those things a
bunch of times. I got so tired of waiting for those web pages to
load that one day I decided to turn off the graphics option in my
browser....now that made a huge difference!!!!
Turning off the graphics option in your browser can actually make
your surfing experience faster, not to mention that it will save
you some frustration.
Here is how to do it in both Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscape
Navigator 4.04. Note that a similar process can be followed in previous
versions of Explorer and Navigator.
Internet Explorer
-
Click View in the toolbar and select Internet Options.
-
Once the Internet Options window pops up select Advanced.
-
Scroll down until you see Multimedia and deselect the Show
Pictures option below it.
-
Click on OK and that's it.
Netscape Navigator
-
Click Edit in the toolbar and select Preferences.
-
Click on Advanced and deselect the option that says Automatically
load images.
-
Click on OK and that's it.
It is true that the web pages won't look as nice as they do with
the graphics but then again who said that the only reason why you
go to a web site is to look at their nice little graphics?
