Secure your Domain Name

Thousands of domain names are registered everyday. Have your registered yours?

If you are planning to develop a web site, you might want to consider registering your domain name ASAP. Why? Because by the time you finish developing your web site, your domain name may be long gone.

There are two ways you can register a domain name.

  • Do it yourself
Go to Internic's site and register your domain name by filling out a few forms. Though this is a more direct way of registering a domain name, it is not necessarily the easiest. Newbies will have a hard time registering a domain name since one of the requirements is to provide Internic with a server address. If you are a newbie, you might want to forget about doing it yourself, instead, have someone else do it for you.

  • Let your Hosting service provider do it for you
Many companies that offer hosting services, register domain names for individuals (future customers) for free. All you have to do is fill out a couple of forms on their web site(s) and that's it.

Regardless of the way you register your domain name, you will still be responsible for paying the $70 registration fee to Internic. The registration is good for two years and it costs $35 to renew it afterwards.*

*Keep in mind that the costs of registering a domain name may decrease due to several factors (future competition being one of them).
