These days, many people who build web sites believe in these words. To their misfortune, such words do not apply to the web and web building. If you have a web site that is not getting the attention it deserves, then it's imperative that you promote it. Promoting a web site is not as difficult as many think. Here's a few tips you can follow to promote your site.

• Register it!
  Register your web site with a search engine.

• Link Exchange
  Become a member of a link exchange program.

• WebRing
  Join a webring to increase traffic to your site.

• Reciprocal Links
  Exchange links with other web sites.

As always, there are other ways to promote your site. For instance, you can tell all your friends about your site and at the same time, tell them to spread the word (word of mouth is very effective).
