"System Failure" "Disk Failure" " Fatal
error"
If
you've been using computers for a while, then you most likely know
that the messages above mean only one thing: Trouble.
Messages like
the ones above, mean that data you have stored in your hard drive
is seriously compromised, and therefore, the chances of losing such
data are huge.
Though you may
not be able to prevent such system conflicts from happening, there
is something you can do to protect your data in case trouble arises.
Backup
important files
Backing up important
files is the most important thing you can do to prevent data loss.
What is
considered important files? Well, important files can be some of
the following:
The rule of
thumb is to backup every single file in your system, that way if
your system ever crashes, you'll be able to restore your system
to the way it was.
There are hundreds
of utility programs out there that will allow you to backup your
data efficiently. For instance, the Windows OS (Operating System),
comes with a utility that will allow you to backup any file you
want. Or you can also try WinZip (a utility program that compresses
files with a .Zip extension).
Also, there
are many storage devices such as Zip disks that will allow you to
backup huge amounts of data in one disk. Remember,
it's better to be safe than sorry, so backup your important files
today!
