"Every time I try to run spell-check in my word processor
a message appears saying: "File missing... mssp232.dll"
What does this mean?"
Answer
03/04/99
What this means is that one of the files that spell-checker uses
to work properly in this case mssp232.dll, is either missing or
it has become useless or corrupt.
Files get corrupted or deleted all the time either by accident
or for no apparent reason at all. The best way to fix this is by
doing one of three things.
Re-install the program itself
First uninstall the program and then re-install it. Note that by
uninstalling the software/program you will lose all your work/files/documents.
If you want to avoid that, make copies of your personal work/files/documents
in a diskette or in a different folder in your system before you
uninstall the software/program.
Re-install missing files only
Some programs offer the user an option to re-install missing files
only. When the Install or Set-up Wizard is launched and the user
selects this option, the Install Wizard automatically finds out
which files are missing in your system and then re-installs them.
Look for the missing file yourself
You can try to find the file yourself by searching for it in the
CD from which you installed the software, once you find the file
you can copy it to the right folder in your system.
If you are not familiar with how files work it would be better
run the Install Wizard so it can take care of the problem for you.
Now, if you know what you are doing then it might be easier to look
for the file yourself and then copy it to the right folder in your
system.
