In
the previous article we covered an important aspect of web building
and that is design. In this article we'll cover another aspect that
is just as important and that is content plus, we'll talk about
some dos and don'ts in web building. Ok, let's get down to business.
Content
Content is one of the most important
aspects of web building. As I surf the web I notice that a high
percentage of sites don't have a lot to offer content wise, it seems
to me that today people have forgotten that the reason why one builds
a web site is to put information in it not just a bunch of graphics
and links.
Sites with low content in most
cases, can accomplish many things except for successfulness. Let's
list some of those "things".
-
Uselessness
The main reason why people surf
the web is to find information and the main reason why web sites
exist is to provide information. How can people benefit from
a web site is it has nothing to offer content wise?
-
Low Traffic
Low content will 99% of the time,
mean low or no traffic at all. If you don't provide content
in your web site and most important of all if you don't update
the content in your web site, people will have no reason to
comeback to it. I've seen a bunch of sites that have content
that hasn't changed for the last two years...how about that!
-
Unprofitable
If you are trying to make money off your site or if at least
you want it to pay for it self, having little content in it
is definitely not the way to go. Companies that have big bucks
and want to advertise on the web look for web sites that are
rich in content because they usually attract more visitors or
more business if you want to put it that way.
Ok, enough of that. Let's now
talk about ways to stop your site from becoming some of the "things"
we listed above.
