Downloading can be such a rewarding task. Think of it, where else or better yet, how else could you have gotten a hold of all those neat programs and files you have installed in your system?

Nowadays, downloading has become just as common as e-mail. Because of the ability to download, we are able to get lots of things such as games, trial versions of the coolest and latest software titles, neat utility programs, and much more!

Oh yeah, downloading is easy, but getting those downloaded programs and files to run, is a different story.

Many people these days, are having a hard time opening the files they download into their systems. This is because they either don't really know how to open them or because the files they download are corrupt. Since downloading corrupt files is not that common, let's focus on learning how to open download files the easy way.

First, let's familiarize with file compression formats, and then, let's look at one or two important aspects of the most popular compression format out there.
