E-mail is a new powerful tool that allows people to communicate with other people anywhere in the world almost instantaneously. E-mail has become a big part of our lives because of many reasons, some of them being the speed at which it is delivered and its low if not non-existent cost.

Though e-mail can be used in many positive ways it can also be used in other not so positive ways. One of the negative ways of using e-mail is through Spam.

Spam is unsolicited e-mail sent to people on the Internet by the millions. Most spam is commercial advertising for pornography, get-rich-quick schemes, and suspicious products. Such advertisements come from a number of sources such as well-established companies that specialize in nothing but spam, people who are hired specifically to collect e-mail addresses and send unsolicited e-mail to them, people who for no reason seem to enjoy making other people's lives miserable, etc.

Yeah, it's true that spam might have been a nuisance at first when the Internet was introduced to the world but it has become such a big problem that it now poses a real threat to people's privacy and though it can't be stopped...at least for now, there are ways you can protect yourself from it and even fight it!
