A quick guide to having a web presence

Step 3 - Let the coding begin

Now that you have a pretty good idea of what your site will look like, you can start writing the HTML that will make your site happen.

If you are not familiar with HTML then it would be advisable to spend a few hours reading about it or even learning the code. Or if you prefer, you can get an HTML Editor that will do the coding for you.

Step 4 - Double Triple check your work

It is extremely important that you double check your work before publishing it. Something else you can do is to have your friends, relatives and even other web builders check your work and have them give you feedback that you can use to improve your site.

Step 5 - Let the world know you have a web site

After you publish your web site, the obvious thing to do is let everybody know that it exists. The best way to accomplish this is by registering your site in major search engines such as Yahoo, Lycos, AltaVista, etc.

Remember that publishing your web site is not the end of the story, it's actually the beginning.

If you are serious about having a web presence, it is important that you consider the kind of content that your site will have and keep in mind that if your goal is to create traffic, such content has to be updated constantly...in other words, daily.

Now, go ahead and get started! :)
