If you've used PhotoShop before, then you must be familiar with
the Drop Shadow effect. But, did you know that there is another
way you can accomplish the same effect with sometimes even better
results? Fire-up PhotoShop and let's get started!
First, you need to create a new image by going to File>New.
Next, you need to add some color to the background layer by selecting
the Paint Bucket Tool and filling it with a color that will
help your text stand out - like orange for the background and white
for text. Paint the background layer and then select the Type
Tool. Type some text over the image (see example below).

Now, here is the part that makes the effect happen. Click on the
layer that contains the text you just typed and right-click on it
- when you do that , select Duplicate Layer and click on
OK in the pop-up box. Next, click on the newly created layer and
drag it below the layer you used to create the duplicate one. Like
so.
Now, double-click on the duplicate layer and change the color
of the text to black (click on OK to accept new color). Once you
change the color move the image 1 pixel up and 1 pixel to the left
or right (by now you should be able to see the effect).

Now save your image if you haven't done so already. You are done!
