Ever wanted to know how graphics artists add sparkles to text,
objects or images? Well, here is a quick tutorial that will show
you how to do it. Fire-up PhotoShop and create a new canvas, any
size you want, next add some background color, create a new layer
and add some text with the Type Tool.
Now, create a new layer and follow the next couple of steps.
|
1 Go to Window>Show Brushes and select Load
Brushes from the "options" arrow from the top-right-hand
corner.
2 Browse to PhotoShop>>Goodies>>Brushes
and load the "Assorted Brushes.abr" file.

|
|
Next, create a new layer above all the other layers, browse through
the brushes in the Brushes Window and select the Star shaped
brush, choose White as the foreground color and click on the edges
of your text to create the sparkle effect.
Here is the final product. If you wish to make the sparkles more
shiny simply create a new layer, use a small/smooth brush and paint-click
over the sparkles you created.
