FrontPage 98 - Hover Button Effect

By Eddy R.

Most web sites these days are very dynamic. Some are database driven, others have client/server scripts that are executed when a client (you) does something in the web site (such as a pop up window that is triggered when a mouse hovers over a link, etc.).

If you would like to make your site a little more dynamic, FrontPage 98 can help. FrontPage 98 has neat features that allow you to create several effects on your site. One of such effects is the Hover Button. Here's how to create one.

  • On FrontPage Editor - Go to the Insert menu and select Active Elements.

  • Select Hover Button from the Active Elements sub-menu.

Once the Hover Button window pops up do the following:

  • In the Button Text field box, type in the text that will appear on the button.

  • Type in the link to which you want the button to point in the Link to: field box.

  • Set the Button Color/Background of your preference.

  • Set the Effect and Effect Color of your preference (FrontPage gives you several effects to choose from).

  • Set the Width and Height and click on OK to finish.

That's it. If you'd like to test the Hover Button effect, click on the Preview tab in the FrontPage Editor and make the mouse pointer hover over the button. As always, you can make changes to the button properties by selecting the button and pressing Alt+Enter.
