Web sites have come a long way since they first appeared.
These days, Web Builders are creating "marvels" by building
sites that are database driven, dynamically updated and a whole
lot more we couldn't even begin to describe.
If you've been wanting to make your site a little
more dynamic (in the client-end anyway), Dreamweaver can help.
Rollover Images
Here is an easy and neat way to create rollover images
with DW. First launch DW and open a new window. Next, do the following:
Once the dialog box appears do the following:
-
Type the path and file name of the main image
in the Original Image field.
-
Assign a name to the main image in the Image Name
field.
-
Type the path and file name of the rollover image
(image that will appear when the mouse hovers over the main
image) in the Rollover Image field.
-
Replace the # sign in the Link field with a path
and file name to create a link.
-
Make sure that Preload Images is selected so that
all images pre-load when the HTML document is called (this cuts
the time the user has to wait for the rollover effect to take
place) .
That's it! See the screen shot here.
Even though a rollover image won't make your site
as dynamic as a database driven site, it still will set your site
apart from all those static sites that have nothing but text on
them and that oh BTW, are extremely boring. Try it, create a neat
rollover image on your site and watch your site's visitors enjoy
their stay at your site a little more.
