Compliance with Standards
This is one of those things that brings tears into a web builder's
eyes. After so long, Netscape has finally done it!
The new Netscape 6 offers full support for XML,
CSS1, the W3C
DOM level 1, and Resource
Description Framework. It also supports CSS2 positioning and
the DOM2 event model and CSS interface.
What does this all mean? It means that web developers no longer
have to choose one browser over another when developing their site(s).
It also means that web developers are now able to fully use technologies
they couldn't use before - such as DHTML, XML, CSS - without worrying
how their audience's browsers would interpret their work.
Performance
Netscape 6 is quite stable and its performance is superior to previous
Netscape versions and other browsers out there. The browser loads
(renders) web pages extremely fast - all thanks to its new revolutionary
browser engine, Gecko,
and with support for standards in place, web surfers can now fully
enjoy the technologies being used in most web sites.
Features
Netscape 6 comes loaded with new impressive features.
As you may already know, you can customize the look and feel of
your browser by changing its skin. There's also a search field that's
always open---search from the location (URL) bar, so you don't have
to go to a special search page or open a frame. The Search results
appear automatically in My Sidebar - a new feature, for easy access.
If that's not enough, the Search menu offers outstanding search
tools that will help you find just what you are looking for. To
top it all, you can also specify the Search Engine Netscape should
use for Internet searches.
